Make your own Green cleaning products!

Do you use green cleaning products? If not, have you thought about switching over? There are many benefits to using green cleaning products – they are safer for your home, your children, your animal friends, and the environment. Plus, they cost less! What’s great is you can make these products yourself. We have some recipes for you to help you get started.

No. 1 ~ A green all-purpose cleaner:
~ mix vinegar and salt together for a good surface cleaner
~ pour some baking soda and vinegar on a damp sponge- it will clean and deodorize your kitchen and bathroom surfaces

No. 2 ~ How to remove crayon markings: {only for the floor or table}
~ rub with some toothpaste on a damp cloth.

No. 3 ~ How to remove grease spots:
~ immediately pour salt on the grease spot to absorb and prevent staining

No. 4 ~ A green oven cleaner:
~ while the oven is still warm, pour salt on grimy areas. if areas are dry, dampen with water before applying the salt. when oven cools down, scrape the grime off and wash clean
~ spray grimy areas with vinegar-water and apply a layer of baking soda. rub gently with a fine steel wool pad and wipe off. rinse with water and wipe dry.

No. 5 ~ A natural toilet bowl cleaner
~ sprinkle baking soda into the bowl, then drizzle with vinegar and scour with a toilet brush. this combination both cleans and deodorizes.

No. 6 ~ Glass cleaner
~ mix equal amounts of water and vinegar in a spray bottle. wipe the glass with newspaper for a streak-free shine.

Vinegar alone has many cleaning uses. Did you know it removes stickers that have been used by your children for “decorative” uses? It also eliminates unwanted odors overnight, when mixed 50/50 with water it can be a stain treatment, and can be used for chemical and grime building in the bathroom. We urge you to give it a try!

If you want to use green cleaning products but don’t want to make them yourselves, we think this all-purpose spray is a good option, as well as this bathroom kit. Happy cleaning!
